The Yetis Hockey Club origins date back to the year 2011 when the team's first moniker (fancy word for name) was "Hitless" (as in Scare them shitless). The Yetis team name first came about in 2013, using the same core of players as the 2011 team. After two winning seasons as the Yetis, and some player personnel changes, the team name was changed to the Sea Monkeys and won its first championship. The team name has since reverted back to the Yetis.
The Yeti Roster is made up of players from various cities in the West Valley of metro-Phoenix, Arizona (Peoria, El Mirage, Surprise). Each player embraces the Yeti-lifestyle: heckling opposing players from the bench, reciting movie lines, fake accents, and pre-game drinking. To a player, the Yetis has the best collection of players any beer league, west of the Mississippi, has ever accumulated.
Yeti players see themselves as brothers, and their fans are a big part of their family. Our loyal fans cheer us on and are there to congratulate players after a win or lift their spirits after a loss. Our fans are an extension of the team.
